George Washington University and IIBA/PMI Certification

How do ESI’s professional certificates align with Industry Certification?

Our courses are aligned with the PMI’s PMBOK® (project management body of knowledge) and the IIBA’s BABOK® (business analysis body of knowledge). This means that you can apply our courses towards gaining a recognised industry certification.

If you have completed an ESI certificate this will be a good indication that you are ready to take the equivalent industry certification.

For example, if you have gained a foundation level ESI certificate such as an Associate's Certificate in Project Management (achieved by taking 3 ESI training courses in 2 years), this is an indication that you are ready to take the PMI®’s foundation level industry certification Certified Associate in Project Management Certification (CAPM®).

How do I start my route to certification?

Step 1: Take one of our entry level courses, Managing Projects or Managing IT Projects.
Step 2: Evaluate your other core training needs – take 2 or more courses in 2 years.
Step 3: You will receive an Associate Certificate in Project Management from ESI.
Step 4: You have now fulfilled the pre requisite of 23 hours of professional training required to apply for the PMI’s foundation industry certification (CAPM®) – *See our PMI page for further requirements or visit www.pmi.org.uk for the full requirements.
